CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES 2014 NASCAR SCHEDULE

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and July Night Racing Return to Chicagoland Speedway

Joliet, Ill. – Oct. 14, 2013 – Chicagoland Speedway today announced the return of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup for a fourth consecutive year, Sept. 12-14, with a triple-header weekend of action. The Speedway will also welcome back Saturday night racing with the NASCAR Nationwide Series on Saturday, July 19.

Additional details, including on-sale dates and season ticket holder renewal information, will be made public as information becomes available.

It’s been very gratifying to see how Chase Week has grown into a must attend industry event, now encompassing a week long lineup of event programming for our fans and partners to enjoy.” said Scott Paddock, president of Chicagoland Speedway. “It is also with great excitement that we welcome the return of July night racing, a tradition celebrated and embraced by our fans. With night races across each of our event weekends in 2014, we truly believe this schedule offers our fans a very special event experience.”

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, Sept. 12-14, will begin with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series under the lights on Friday night. On Saturday, Sept. 13, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will hit the track as the precursor to Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series showdown, the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

July’s NASCAR weekend features a rare-off weekend for the Sprint Cup Series, with the Nationwide Series taking center stage in the world of motorsports at Chicagoland Speedway.

Know The Track -
NASCAR races are run on a variety of tracks such as flat tracks, road courses, super speedways and short tracks.
Some drivers do better or worse on different track types so check their stats. If the race is on a short track like Bristol or Richmond, where wrecks can be frequent, consider starting fewer big names and go with guys who will be spread out through the pack. That way a wreck up front won't take out all of your drivers.Check The Average Start Position -
If your league awards qualifying points, you'll want to have drivers in your lineup who consistently qualify in the top 4 to increase your chance of getting extra points.
Who Won The Nationwide Series Race Yesterday? - There is usually a Nationwide series race the day before a NASCAR Cup series race. Many of the Cup drivers compete in the Busch race and drivers who finish well there usually do well in the big race the next day, sometimes with back to back wins.
